Leycesters Rest Stop to Kununurra
Sunny, 30 degrees.
This morning we went for a walk along the Ord River at the bottom of the rest stop. Lovely river, although a bit dry in sections. We clambered over rocks, it is very much like rivers in Victoria, with lots of bush around and very peaceful. A few parrots and cockatoos around.
We then set off for Kununurra. The scenery today was just beautiful, lots of mountains everywhere. It changed around every bend. It reminded us a lot of the Hamersley Range near Karajini. However the road since Halls Creek has not been so good! Very narrow and bumpy at times. The worst roads since we have left Perth. We have seen a lot more cattle here and cattle stations. A few near the road and also a few horses but not too many. The road seemed to improve as we got closer to Kununurra.
We arrived at Kimberleyland Holiday Park about 3.30. It is right on the lake and our site has a view of it! Just beautiful! Love it here! We have booked for just two nights but may stay a couple more. Cooked steak for dinner with potato salad. Had a very relaxing evening!
