We drove further up into the tropical north to Cape Tribulation where the rainforest meets the beach. It was a lovely drive up but persisting it down so we went to Dragonfly café for a latte and then to PK's for a beer and watched the rain bucket down. We headed back to a cheap campground but were met with a floodway to torrential to pass so we went back and stayed at an annoyingly expensive site with crap facilities (the kitchen was being used by the campers as a flood relief shelter). We cooked by the van next to a strip of forest by the beach so one of us was on watch for big salty croc's while the other cooked. Our first intro to big ass spiders in the toilets.
