Day 4 - The Inka Trail - At Machu Picchu We were woken up at 4.30am grabbed some porridge and scrambled egg and set off to the final check point which opened at 5.30 am to let us onto the final part of the trail leading to Machu Picchu itself. Day 3 - The Inka Trail After a night of continuous rain we were woken at 6am to a fabulous view, clloudy, misty over the mountains (see photo), but drizzly and it soon became apparent that day 3 was not going to be the unforgettable stunning view day thayt it was supposed to be but a rainy cloudy day instead. Day 2 - The Inka Trail After being woken by all three cockrels, there was a tap on the tent and three porters were standing there with a selection of hot drinks.....lovely.
