Another month has passed since our last entry and things are moving along nicely. The concrete floors have been finished on all three levels and are now covered for protection. All walls/ceilings have been primed and the garage/workshop have even been painted. Jason bought a second-hand kitchen and has the cabinetry installed in the workshop, ready to move stuff from our old garage over to the new house. He has also already built a big storage shelf in the garage. With Wally's and Jane's help we have started sanding and lacquering the windows and are making great progress. There is a large stack of trim ready to go in the garage for the baseboards and the window casings once the windows have received their second coat of lacquer. Sophie has so far spent two days at the construction site, either sleeping or hanging out with one of us. She seems to like her new bedroom :-). On April 26th the delivery of the kitchen cabinets started and so far the cabinet wall and one island have been fully installed. We've had talks with some tile setters and contacted landscaping companies for the driveway, the quotes for the railing, the soffits/flashing/fascia, the exterior panels and corrugated metal finish have also been signed and the materials have been ordered. We are BUSY!
