Leg 5: race 7 day 27
Got woken up at 6.30 found it hard to wake up felt tired! Had a bowl of porridge then up on deck for 7am chilled for an hour as still dark. As the sun came up started to take a few photos. Carl was on the helm then I took over from 9.30 til 11. It was lovely. It was the first time I have helmed with us sailing. Sea was calm wind speed was 10-12knots. Carl stayed with me at the helm which was nice. Had a chat as we sailed. Matt and Caroline were fixing bits on the boat and sophie was doing sail repair with jane. Lovely sunny day.
Heard that there is a chance of snow at home! And here we are in shorts and t shirts.
Finished shift at 11, had noodles for lunch then went to my bunk for my 8 hour break. Must have fallen asleep about 12 and woke at 6pm Kevin (Chinese round the world) made us Chinese food for dinner fish dumplings.
Went on shift 7pm till 11pm. Not a lot of wind and sea was flat. I helmed for a while.
Came off at11 I made some scones for everyone. Went to bed at 3am.
