There was a short drive up to Waihi Beach which saw scattered showed that thankfully had cleared up by the time we arrived.
We grabbed lunch in the Porch bar which benefitted from great sunlight.
The room at the holiday park was very sizeable, & we both had our own bedroom.
With the sun shining we attempted a coastal walk, but we ended up lost on a track that was clearly the wrong one. A stroll down the beach followed by a gym session made up or our mistake.
Of course we then needed to relax in the pool, spa & sauna before grabbing a beer.
The walk to & from dinner was very relaxing. With the low lighting in the area, the stars covered the sky. This along with the sound of the waves hitting the beach, allowed the feeling of being far away from it all.
The meal itself was fantastic. The peace & quiet here allows one the chance to reflect. When I remember NZ in the future I shall remember great seafood & great wine. Although I have had the more commonly known staple meat dishes on this trip. It is the abundance of good quality seafood dishes that I shall remember. Tonight's meal was another example of this. Essentially it was a coconut seafood curry, very well done.
Waihi itself is a summer town, with huge long beaches, & lots of activities. Thankfully we have the place to ourselves to enjoy!
