Feeling slightly worse for indulging last night, the drive to Fox was anything but uneventful. Having rained all night & there still be storm conditions along the route, there were numerous spectacular waterfalls. At one point the road was blocked from fallen trees, the only down side was not being able to see some of the great views properly along the route.
When we arrived at Fox it was still raining heavily so we popped to Lake Matheson cafe for lunch. We made it to Lake Matheson but the clouds limited the view. It decided to start raining heavily as we were on the jetty. We were both soaked by the time we returned to the car.
The rest of the afternoon was spent waiting for a break in the rain which duly arrived just before five & we drove to the glacier & managed a short walk just as the rain came down again.
Before dinner we used the hotel hot tub at the hotel. It was quite fun watching the rain all around the hut.
