We set off to the other hostel where the tour started at about quarter past 7, it was a two hour journey so slept most of the way. We got off the bus and made our way to the starting point and onto the wall. the view of the surrounding mountains were amazing and you could see the wall stretch on far into the distance.
This part of the wall was reconstructed so was all intact and new looking. it was really sunny, which was lucky but meant it was hot and made the trek more difficult as the wall went up and down huge steep slopes between each tower and we had 22 of them to go. The further we went the less reconstructed the wall was which meant it was crumbly and over grown but looked really good as it hadn't been untouched since it was built.
The wall carried on climbing to the summit of these massive hills until we were really really high up, scarily high at some points and the steps were getting so steep that we had to crawl up them like a ladder. We got some amazing views and photos and there was hardly anyone there which made it really cool. We got to the end which was a relief after about 7km but then had a huge walk down back to the bus which felt like another 5km and our feet were killing, we eventually got back to Beijing where we luckily got dropped back near our hostel so only had a short walk home.
The wall was really awesome and impressive but made our feet hurt but thankfully we had our walking boots which really helped.
