Today started off VEEEERRRRY badly but luckily I realised my mistake early on. Waking up to drizzly fog in California! Really?! We've driven through a tree, climbed inside a tree and happened upon a herd of Roosevelt Elk (endangered) at the roadside. After waking up to deer in the hotel car park, we left Oregon and are now just south of the state border in California. Today we have visited Jedediah State Park to witness the massive Redwood Trees, waited for the tide to go out so we could walk to the lighthouse in Crescent City, walked with a few feet of basking Sea Lions and tonight we are staying in a motel made out of one Redwood tree, the Curly Redwood Lodge.
