What a day - magnificent scenery and SNAKES! Heading slightly off Route 66 today we drove south to climb a volcano and visit an ice cave. The trail to the top of the volcano was approximately 1 mile but the views looking in at the top were well worth it. Most US kids have gone back to school now so everywhere is a lot quieter. A nice short journey today brought us to Albuquerque by mid morning and we had a lie in this morning too (until 0745!) After a very long and boring road, we arrived Roswell. Checking into the hotel the guy behind the desk told me his mum was from Bolton (small world!) A nice drive today with some good sights and food en route. Today we've driven into New Mexico and the scenery has changed quite dramatically - it's now looking far more desert like. Cadillac Ranch was great and just like those before us we added our name to one of ten cadillacs nose down in the soil.
