Leaving the wonderful view our next part of the journey was quite disappointing. With not a lot to see we just headed southward until we arrived at South Bend where we found a Fish and Chip van. Having seen a herd of elk in our front garden this morning we set out to Hoh Rainforest where they get 147" of rain per year but today it was sun and blue sky! We had a wander around one of the trails and saw deer, a Hairy Woodpecker and a Gray Jay. Our next stop was Ruby Beach, a beautiful unspoilt beach with plenty of driftwood where a Bald Eagle just sat above us watching the people strolling along the sands. So we've finally hit Pacific Highway 101. Travelling west then south through Sequim (pronounced Skwim), Dungeness (where we walked partially along the 7 mile spit), Port Angeles and Lake Cresent (very picturesque) we ended up just outside Forks, Washington and in the Eagles Cabin at Huckleberry Cabins. We've barbecued some corn and made S'mores and enjoyed a well deserved relax in the hot tub. The alcohol is flowing nicely and the sun in shining. Cheers!

We really didn't want to leave Cozy Cottage as it had been just that, very comfortable and full of exciting reading material! A tour of Whidbey Island was on today's agenda but us early birds were too early to catch the worm as Coupeville (our first stop) didn't open until 10am. Today started off with some kind of incident across the road where someone was carted off in an ambulance! On a lighter note, we picked up our car and headed south to Hat'n'Boots and paid out respects to Jimi Hendrix before heading north to Whidbey Island.
