Today we've been to Palo Duro Canyon which is a state park 30ish miles south of Amarillo. We enjoyed a leisurely trail ride through the canyon on Chester, Hoots and Festas before having a picnic under a bit of shelter. A small hike followed but temperatures being high and Imogen's fear that a rattlesnake may attack her from any angle made us turn around early for a much deserved cool of in the car air conditioning. Well we've arrived in Texas and with bullet holes in the sign, one could be a bit unnerved. We've had a bizarre day seeing all kinds of strange things-a huge cowboy boot, probably the worlds smallest jail, a water tower which only stands on two of its four legs, a barbed wire museum (!) and some VW Beetles half buried in the ground.
