Today we travelled to probably the remotest pub in the world - the 'Poo Pub'. Today we arrived on the Wild West coast in a place called Westport! We're staying at a great hostel where there's about 12 of us in one big room with a kitchen, tv, really comfy sofas and all our bunk beds. It's not modern by any means (dust comes off the mattress when you hit it) but it's got a lot of character! After a very early start to the day in Wellington, we caught the 3hr ferry from the North to South Island to commence our southerly adventures! Today we decided to climb Mt Victoria which sits right in the centre of Wellington. On the way up frazer was running in all directions as he recognised some points which were almost certainly places where Lord of the Rings was filmed so that kept him happy! Yesterday was the day we left River Valley for good! Although we're over the moon not to be slaving away most of the day it was very sad to say farewell to the gang.. They were such a hilarious, friendly and interesting lot that, and I can speak for both of us, it'll be a surprise to find a similar bunch ever again!
