Yesterday we arrived back in Taupo- we were looking forward to coming back here to do the Tongariro Crossing- the most challenging alpine walk in the whole of New Zealand! So this morning we almost missed the bus by waking up at 5.30 am on the dot (when we were supposed to be getting on the bus) but luckily us Brits were well prepared and had packed our bags the night before! For the past couple of days we have been back in Rotorua! This time round we wanted to fit in Hobbiton (the shire from The Lord of the Rings films) and also the geyser park! Hobbiton is what Frazer has wanted to do since we decided we wanted to go to New Zealand so he was extremely happy that we got to go! Yesterday we arrived in Waitomo- the caving capital of New Zealand! We completed the labyrinth course of caving which involved walking through a lot of water, climbing in small spaces and over rocks, jumping down waterfalls in a rubber ring and floating down the underground river in our tubes to see some amazing glow worms! It was really great fun- me and Frazer would definitely have done it again if we could! This morning we did something pretty crazy and decide...

Today we were at Hot Water Beach- the name speaks for itself really...as soon as you dig a hole in the sand boiling hot water fills it up! It has to be mixed with sea water for it to be cool enough to sit in its that hot..so we had fun digging! We chose to do some kayaking here in cathedral cove as well which was great- we were kayaking in the open sea as the sun went down and catching loads of waves as we headed back towards the shore! So glad we did it here :) ...

While in Auckland this time around we decided to get the ferry over to a place called Devonport- we climbed to the summit of Mount Victoria there and got some amazing views of the Auckland skyline and also all of the water and small pieces of land that surround it! I treated myself to a very nice chocolate from a very posh shop and we had icecreams too! A very traditional seaside day! :)
