Yesterday a big group of us decided to go on a 4 hour walk to see the glacier from a different angle (it's so spectacular we couldn't resist!) and it was great to see it from the ground as you really get to see how huge it is. Walking on the glacier was definitely one of the best days we've had while travelling. We arrived in Franz Josef at lunchtime and about half an hour later we were in a helicopter (first time we've done that!) heading up towards the glacier. We got some awesome views of it and the mountains surrounding it!
