So yesterday, after a jet lagged infused 13hr flight, we were thankfully picked up at Christchurch airport by Gary and Sarah (friends of Richard and Julie, Catherine's parents) and bought about an hour and a half east to the beautiful Staveley where we will be staying for the next few days. Yesterday, we went to dinner round Abi's, their daughter's, and had shephards pie and crumble - was like English comfort home food, great! Also, we met the eclectic array of animals they own - sheep, dogs, cats, cattle and chickens! After a long sleep, we went out and took a longish drive to Mount Sunday where the filmed part of the second film for Lord of the Rings, was a cool place to go as a fan and I know Liam would've enjoyed it! The view was insane too and added to the experience, we'll add some photos. Then when we arrived home we had a lamb roast and meringue, lovely! We also took the dogs out for a swim in the stream adjacent to the house, the water was crystal clear but pretty cold, it ran directly from the mountain! Tomorrow we're going into the nearest big town, Ashbourne, to stock up on supplies and to arrange our first bus for the kiwi experience which we're really looking forward to! :) now off to bed!
