Day 43: Today we decide to drive down to the Daly River just to check it out before we commit to staying there.
The area is all about the fishing and we have heard that the season hasn't been that good, plus they just had the Barra Classic there as well.
Well...what a place! No offense to the people of the Daly River, but it was a bit like hill-billy country. It obviously is alive when the fishing is on, but today it was dead.
We checked out the new crossing and after much mucking around, finally found the old crossing and the elusive Daly River Inn.
We had a beer and the best feed we have had on the trip so far...as agreed by all (not that we've had many). A very interesting place.
We decide we won't stay here, but head on to Berry Springs tomorrow. We get back to the springs and spend the evening heating and cooling ourselves.
The boys make a fire and Craig and I sit chatting, while the boys shoot spit balls at each other with the bamboo pipes they made from Daly River flood level.
Paradise...
