Hello.
I had a good day on Tuesday. We had the day off because there are no more tomatoes to pick. We went to the pub to watch the Melbourne cup. My horse didnt win but I did win a free raffle and got $60 woth of vouchers for the local butchers so I had a big BBQ with everyone, which was delicious, and free!
I also had a nice day off on Friday and went back to airlie beach for the day for some shopping. It was good to get out of Bowen but I was a good girl and resisted spending any of my hard earned money. Since then I have been back on the 12hr shifts, starting at 6am. We got a lie in yesterday till 7.30am instead of 4.30am as we started at 9am, but then we had to work till 9.30pm, so that wasn't so great after all. However we do have a day off today and after this, I only have 3 days left, yay!!! So, I work my last day on Saturday and leave Bowen on Monday morn. I am going to Magnetic island for that night and then spending one night at Catherine and Graeme's house before heading to Cairns on wed and flying from Cairns to Auckland on thurs. I am spending that weekend with 2 girls from Auckland that I met in Las Vegas before starting my kiwi experience on the Monday. I then fly back on December 17th, to get back to Townsville for my birthday and Christmas!
mummy mallett Emz, the end is in sight! Are you planning your beach ride on Maggie island? Hopefully your parcel will be a C&G by the time you get there but shouldnt be opened until you return to them from NZ. Shud be fun meeting up with friends in Auckland- that was a good contact and then your travel around NZ- I wonder wot their weather will be like? We are having rubbish weather at the moment but I suppose it is winter!!! Love U xxx
Frank & Val Hi, All this flying about, you will be getting dizzy, but no more toms will be a bonus. Hoape everything works out as planned Luv V&F xx
Nan & Gdad Delighted to hear that the end is in sight as far as the tomatoes are concerned! Still, they have served a purpose money-wise. Look forward to hearing about the next stage of your adventures. Enjoy your stop at Catherine and Graham's, your journey to NZ and your meeting with your friends from Auckland. Love Nan and Gdadxxx
Emma Spoke to Catherine yesterday and the parcel has arrived. Not sure about Maggie yet as it rained a lot yesterday, so if it is raining on Mon I will give Maggie a miss until I go back to Townsville at Christmas. But yes, I do want to do the beach ride. Got today off aswell as rained all day yesterday, so only 2 shifts to go! xxxx
