I arrived in Airlie beach on Sunday evening. That night we went out for dinner and drinks with everyone on the bus. We spent most of Monday shopping and chilling out at the hostel. On Tuesday it got exciting when we set off on a sailing trip round the Whitsunday islands. The boat I was meant to be on broke so we had to go on another 1 & set off a bit late. Therefore we only did a couple of hours sailing to get to the spot we were staying the night and watched the sunset. We got up early the next day and set off to Whitsunday island to go and see Whitehaven beach. The sand on Whitehaven is unsurprisingly White, and incredibly pure! It was stunning as you can see from my pics! You will also see the pic of the massive golden orb spider we saw on the walk to the lookout over the beach! Although it was only 8 in the morn when we got there it was hot enough to have a swim and sunbathe before we headed to our next spot. Here we did some snorkelling round the great barrier reef and saw lots of pretty fish! We then sailed round some more of the islands, not a bad view for my sunbathing! Except when we went really fast and the boat tips to almost vertical, then it's more clinging on than sprawling out across the deck! On the 3rd day we went for another snorkel at a different spot before sailing back to Airlie beach! The weather was great and I was able to top up my tan in some pretty stunning scenery so it was a great trip.
Off to Bowen tomorrow morning, fingers crossed some work comes up soon!
