I have spent the last two days doing quite a lot of travelling. We left 1770 early yesterday morning and travelled through the great dividing range to the outback (central Queensland). We arrived at Kroombit cattle station for lunch (a yummy steak!). Kroombit is a 26km squared ranch with 1000 cattle, goats and horses. Small in comparison to the largest ranch in the world, also in oz, which is the size of Switzerland! They only have one type of cattle, brahman, from India as they are the only ones resistant to a tick they have.
After lunch I mustered goats on horseback! I had an appaloosa called Alfonso! Unfortunately we were only allowed to walk but it was nice to ride again anyway! The western style was also a bit different from what I'm used too. After that they tried to teach us how to lassoo goats. We had a delicious beef dinner (not as good as mums roasts though!) and then tried whip cracking and had a go on the mechanical bull!
We left early again this morning and arrived at Airlie beach at 5. We did have a break at lunch time though when we played Bowles and some how I won!

mummy mallett emz, hugo and I have just enjoyed watching ur latest slideshows of fraser island and Kroombit!! Hugo says he wishes he was there!! Did you really brand that poor goat?? Looks like you have had a ball again- pity work is looming up on the horizon. Weather beaut here today but forecast very changeable. Kim may have some news for you at end of the week. Found a cheque for Fay's dad- was I meant to post it to him?? Speak soon I hope. Love u xxxx
Emma Tell Hugo I wish he was there too! No it was just fake branding! What news? And why only maybe? I'm confused. Not sure what the cheque is, when is it dated? I sent him 1 ages ago, think the amount may have changed, not sure why I didn't rip that up! Xxx
Mo Morning Em another great day in Oz. Are you back on the coast/water again now? Hope you having a great time your blogs and pictures are awesome :))x have another action packed week. I went back to work Monday weather on the turn here and we have rain and dark nights winter woolies at the ready Love Mo xx
Nan & Gdad We are fascinated by your blogs and delighted to know that you are having such a good time. Life here seems tame by comparison! We went to Sylvia's funeral yesterday which was a nice but emotional serviice. We passed on your condolences to Rory and Kerry. It was good to see the family again tho those of us who travelled any distance had an awful journey caused by bad weather, a London tube strike and huge traffic jams. Poor Wendy and Tony didn't make it for the service. We are meeting up with W&T at lunchtime today in Chichester which we are looking forward to. Keep on having a wonderful time and we look forward to the next blog. Lots of love, Nan and Gdad xxx
Emma Mo, I am back on the coast in a town called Airlie Beach from which I have been sailing around the Whitsunday islands, an updated blog is coming! Nan and Grandad, I am glad to hear it was a nice service but I'm sorry it was so difficult to get to and that Wendy and Tony didn't make it. I hope you had a nice lunch with them. Love Emma xxxx
