Day 305 (Sunday 5th October 08)

Went and had a shower, Em not too impressed as she had a freezing cold shower! Cooked some eggs before we left them made our way to Kundabung for the Rodeo. Unfortunately looked in our wallet and didn't have enough money so had to go back to Kempsey to find an ATM. Back to the rodeo, parked up and made our way as close to the front as we could get through all the people. Watched the bulls throw off their riders for a while. They then bought out the junior riders and bulls which wasn't very nice to watch as the baby bulls couldn't even take the weight of the teenagers let alone buck them off. Soon they bought in the horses which we both again didn't like. One of the horses managed to flip on it's back when they were winding it up in the stocks. Em got very upset at this point thinking it was dead as it wasn't moving at all even when they opened up the side. Luckily it was ok and they got it up but the poor thing was put back in to be ridden. They then carried on with the bulls. While one of the bull fighters was trying to save one of the riders from the bull after he had fallen off he head butted the 700kg bull. Straight away he was knocked out, the bull then turned on him and started attacking him with his horns, once the bull was finished with this he jumped over him and stamped on his groin. The other two bull fighters then managed to get the bull away from the guy on the floor and the ambulance was called straight in. They took him out in the ambulance and carried on with the bull riding. There was a short interval where we managed to get right to the front to watch the next half. Saw some more bull riding, luckily no more horses but again there were the baby bulls. The guy that had been attacked by the bull earlier was soon back in the ring and helping with the saving of the fallen riders again even with his broken jaw strapped up, as one of the other bull fighters was looking a bit worse for wear so had to leave the ring. Right at the end they then bought in some wild American Bison to attempt to ride which was the first time they had done this in Australia.Once we left we made our way to Port Macquarie. Quickly heated up something to eat and then went to use Skype. Went and stayed in the same place we had the other night we were here.
