Day 294 (Wednesday 24th September 08)

Walked around Brunswick Heads and while Mark was filling up the water a woman came and asked Em if we would help jump start her car. Once Mark had finished we drove to where her car was and after messing about managed to get close enought to her car to put the jump leads on, as she is off the road in the bushes. Luckily her car easily started and we were all soon on our way. Arrived in Byron Bay in the wet and horrible weather. Decided it wouldn't be very nice going for a walk while it was like this so went to use the internet and hope that it would have brightened up once we had finished. Unfortunately still not looking like a nice day. Made some lunch quickly trying to shelter from the rain and watched the waves on the beach. Drove up to the lighthouse for a quick look before heading onto Ballina. The rain getting even worse now so after a look around Ballina and a trip into the information centre parked up and read our books. By now it was pouring so knew we would get soaked trying to cook anything, instead treated ourselves to fish and chips. Struggled to finish it all as Mark decided to get a big steak burger as well. Parked up for the night and hoped the weather would be better in the morning.
