Adventures of a Global Wanderer
The National Museum of Korea in Seoul is holding a four month exhibition on Islamic art. Entrance is 12,000w ($11) and I actually did win free tickets in a contest. However, as I was only in Seoul for one weekend I ended up paying and there is still no sign of the tickets being mailed.
Despite the special exhibition entrance fee (while the main museum is free), it was very crowded. Also it was predominantly Koreans in attendance showing an interest in Islamic culture.
Such exhibitions are interesting as this is a side of Islamic culture we dont often hear about and such exhibitions and museums are rarely in western countries. It can be expensive travelling the world to see such collections.
It was thoroughly enjoyable and well worth the entrance fee. Perhaps one day my free tickets will show up in the mail so I can give them to friends.
The exhibition runs till the middle of October.
