Adventures of a Global Wanderer
Saturday a friend of mine was getting married at the Seoul Mosque. He was marrying a Korean Muslim convert so with mixed marriages its always interesting to see the joint influences at the wedding. I've never been to a mosque wedding before as usually its in a large hall with min of 100 people, lots of food, music, and sometimes dancing. This time being in a mosque I thought it would just be a simple ceremony. There was a classroom downstairs that was being used for the private function. The side tables had lots of food brought in of various middle eastern and indian type. The korean imam presided over the ceremony. The bride was wearing a white decorated headress and robe, while her mother wore a traditional Korean Hanbok dress which is worn at Korean weddings. It was a nice wedding and I wish them all the best for the future. It was also interesting meeting some of the local korean muslims who seem to be more numerous in seoul that other parts. As usual I do not use close up face pics from private weddings I have attended.
