Made it to Pisa today after catching the train from Siena. The plan was to do a practice run for our day tomorrow when we are on a timetable with meeting a tour in Florence - checking timing, parking, getting lost - the usual!!! All went very smoothly so we are confident that train travel will be the way to go tomorrow!! All day parking at the station was exorbitant!!! 2€ !!!!!!!!! Another day, another medieval willage!!!! Volterra is just amazing with incredible amphitheater ruins thrown in!!! It still amazes us that people actually live in these tiny communities! We even found an electrical store hiding behind the ancient walls, so you could pick up a spare dishwasher or oven as you were passing!!! The views are breathtaking!! Strolled down to a local bar and pizza joint for dinner. Think we might have to come home early after that effort!!!!!! Ordered 2 pizzas and 2 large local beers. The bill was correct and came to €10.20!!!!!!!!! Almost broke the bank!!!! + we have left overs! Who'd 'a' thunk it??? Xxx
