Here we are in Italy after a breathtaking drive from Nice. The scenery along the coastline has to be seen to be believed and we loved it!! Had a drive through Monaco and into Monte Carlo, but the traffic was horrendous with absolutely nowhere to stop. Took some photos, kept on driving and made our way here to Manarola ...... Unbelievable place!!! We parked and then walked for about 15-20 minutes to the village, which is perched on a cliff face overlooking the sea. Eventually we found our abode, a cute little hotel style room overlooking the sea with AMAZING VIEWS!!!! I did a reccy and then took Bwian back down the 137 uneven and mighty steps to the centre of the village where the bistros and bars are. Stickman has been amazing, and determinedly met every staircase mountain put before us!! We had a beautiful pasta meal, some beers and again, local wines - actually very impressive!!! As I write this we are sitting on the balcony after sunset, enjoying the cool Meditteranean breeze, having tea and sharing a local brownie type dessert - very surreal!! Fabo here in Italy!! Ciao!!
