It was a quick blast down the freeway at 130 as we made our way to Fiumicino airport in Rome. We were running a little late as we had a leisurely morning breakfast and sleep in. But we made it to airport and returned our little Lancia before heading to our pre booked shuttle bus. We caught it into the centre before catching the metro and another bus to our accommodation. We are joining a tour today but were a little early at the camp ground we are staying. So we wandered to Maccas for a feed then the supermarket to find an elusive bottle of bourbon. By the time we got back to the campground our tour had arrived. We found our leader and met our awesome chalet friends for the next 3 days. Amber from the Uk and Kezia from Ausland. Our tour is pretty diverse with peeps from NZ, Mexico, Egypt, China, USA & Columbia. But most of it is a graduation class from Malaysia. We had a group meeting then had dinner and some drinks together. Well actually it was mostly us and a nice American couple Chandler & Bethany that drank. The others retired reasonably early. The ones we have met have been pretty awesome and we are looking forward to meeting the rest. So pretty quiet on the news front. We are doing a walking tour in the morning as it gets to a nice 23 degs. Then will explore the city ourselves. It's lovely to not have to think about things for awhile as everything is organised. No driving big k's for us for quite a while. I can relax and see the sites without having to worry about being tired. Looking forward to being acquainted with the history of Rome again.
