Lots of down time in brome town! The weather is just hot,hot ,hot average 38 everyday! so lots of swimming on cable beach where the water is 28 degrees! Perfect!. Cable beach is a cameleon. The tides come in and out which drastically changes the activity and apperance of the beach. Morning walks along the rocks are lovely. We all loved looking for crabs, who I must say are so very neat little creatures! beside each of there crab holes are tiny perfect little sand balls, very pretty. Seeing the camels come on the beach for a morning walk along the nudist beach was a funny and gave Kev a fright!. Late morning the tide comes back in which covers the rocky coastline up and makes for the perfect swimming, body boarding, sunbathing beach! Saving the best for last. Evenings are incredible the sunsets against the low tide and creates a beautiful back drop for fantastic photos. We loved driving our Triton on the beach pulling up with the BBQ, chilling out, watching the camels come back in from there evening stoll, soaking it up with our family.
Catching up with our friends Megan, Matt, Lucas and Keeley has been lovely. Browsing around the broome markets was very cool. I love all the Jewellery, especially the piece Kevlar bought for me! Nice one hubby. Our girls were delighted when they saw the golden arches in town so yes...We all had a maccas for lunch! Lots of fab little shops here and gorge cafes, Frangipani trees, beautiful Boab trees(which are native to the Kimberelys) with fat bottle shaped trunk. The local fair one night was fun we only had one ride, on the octupus! Twas fab we giggled and screamed the entire ride!
Staircase to the moon has been my highlight! It is a nautral occurance in Broome which happens between March-October for 3 nights each month, We were lucky to have seen 2 out of the 3 here. Once at Town beach markets with yummy food vans and then again at the Mangrove Hotel stunning panoramic view from there. Great seeing the bats fly at night also. Once the sunsets the moon then rises (awsome to have seen a rising moon! quite bizzare) over the mudflats at very low tides, creating the phenomal effect of a staircase to the moon.
Again the wildlife is beautiful we love the little frogs that pop around!Saw some pretty impressive crocdiles at the farm (which Candeece will be blogging about for you all today!) We didnt see the Easter bunny sadly even though the girl were both up at 5.20 am! We had a eggtremely success easter egg hunt! Stuffed our bellies with chocolate then lazed by the magnificent massive pool til we could move again!
