Taunton Farm. Smack bang in the middle of a cheese factory and winery! All good things come in 3's. My most favourite thing about here was obviously feeding time at 5.30pm, not sure how feeding a pig a ham n pineapple pizza is ethical but hey! He gobbled it up! The goats were so fat we thought they were pregnant! I've always loved cows and the ones here are massive, gentle and have manners, so I fell even more head over heels. Candeece fell in love with the camel, Kev wasn't sure thought he had the hump! So as you do we checked out a few winery's, thanks to Moira we loved windows winery. A must taste (and buy) from this small family run winery. Yallingup cheese here was also amazing. Chocolate factory.... All I can say is Mikayla came out with a chocolate stained mouth, T-shirt and hands!! The free tasters went down a treat! Candeece came prepared with sandwich bags ( a tip from nanna) . We stocked up on Gabby's muesli, Margaret river yoghurt, cheese, popped into our old fav wicked ale brewery now known as the bush shack brewery. Meet a lovely mother son in the art gallery who told us to try the Grove distillery, so we did and you must.
Margs main shopping strip is fab, we split up in to 2 teams of 2! Mikayla n I have a genuine love of food and shopping so we naturally enjoyed some sushi and hung out at urban bean for a coffee, we bought lemon olive oil ( fab) tasted all the free treats, people watched, bought books from the 2nd hand book store, snagged a few bargins in the hippie shops, then laughed at the prices in the posh shops! Margaret river is some where we haven't visited since Candeece was a toddler! And fell in love with Alf the alpaca, so we popped back into sunflower farm...... Alf is still there! 10 years later. $12 each entry + $3 for a bucket of food. The sheep are very eager and funny, the horse is gentle, I fell in love with the pig and her piglets! They all loved a back scratch. The girls love the rabbit n guinea pig pen. The goats nibbled our hair and the cockatoo kept us entertained dancing! His name was pommy, I didn't trust him!
Counting downs to see our family again! Xxx
