All the reviews we read about the parks in Canberra were fairly average. So we were pleasantly surprised with Queanbeyan riverside tourist park. The girls seem to enjoy the quiter parks much more. They played happily by the river and park. Very friendly people around for a chat any time of day.
Canberra was like a ghost town everyone leaves this time of year which made it extremely easy getting around. We did all the touristy things like the Christmas lights in city walk I've never seen anything like it. 12 days of Christmas all lit up. It's made it into the Guinness book of records absolutely amazing,Parliament House, Mt Anisley at sunset, the veiw of Canberra city from there is incredible, such a clever landscape design which was actually won by a American man name Walter Burley Griffith and his wife, through a competition. The war memorial for me was extremely emotional all those brave young men and women still being honoured really moved me. The girls loved Questacon a science museum. Candeece our little thrill seeker loved the free fall drop slide.
We enjoyed the quite pace here defiantly and all the beautiful old trees. There is so many open spaces it's lovely.
