Australia zoo is a must!!! Loved every minute here. As soon as we walked through the gates we welcomed warmly by friendly staff. The staff bring animals out all day for interaction and photos. Our first encounter was with Kenny Echidna, followed by a friendly little python. The tortoise were fed early and it was clear to see they'd pretty much do anything for sweet potato. After a very interesting talk there we walked around noticing how calm and peaceful the whole place felt. Water dragon lizards are everywhere here so I know my Mum will never visit this zoo. They are so tame even tried to share our lunch with us!
The Crocoseum pop on a truly captivating show I could not believe how well trained all the birds were as well as being totally gorgeous. The whole show is fab and over the top. Memorabilia of Steve Urwin is lovely to see. Lots of interesting facts about crocodiles and much to learn. We read about a croc that Steve had rescued and moved out of a place called Weipa as this beast was quite the pest. They transported it via helicopter 450k around the coast. However this big fella spent 58 days travelling home through the ocean and ended up back where the found him! Incredible.
The wildlife are healthy and active, very nice to see.
