...we get up, store our stuff at reception and headfor our last shopping and lunch in Santiago....I buy two Pisco bottles for those cocktails :)...I say goodbye to friends, to one of my favorite cities in the world and Uber for the airport because I am as always late....city is empty for the holidays so I arrive early and attempt shopping for an Easter Island moai shaped Pisco bottle, find one, get in an argument with a guy from the store saying I can't impor...

...we both wake up tired - Piotr after having gone out alone and partied and me from incessant brutal music downstairs until 7am (outdoor NYE party and the hotel is right downtown) from which even closed windows and my 15th floor location didn't protect me......we have a nice breakfast after some searching through deserted streets (almost everything closed) and realize upon paying €30 for some coffees, sandwiches and cakes that Chile still is freaking p...

...nothing major happens except we go shopping for some groceries, we book a hotel for the next night to not inconvenience S&V any further and we prepare for the New Years celebrations....we find our hotel is in a nice tower so we get apartments on 15th and 17th floor respectively; great value at €38 but view is not nice....Piotr goes to meet some online friends and I pay a visit to Ale and Javiera, have a nice beer with them, pick up my freeze dried food, ...

....I land in Santiago (30C heat!!) and right off the bat I find out that Piotr (who had landed there a day before me) had been robbed!...I go to Sebastian's place and meet his girlfriend Victoria....Seba arrives and it appears he's even more disorganized than me but Victoria seems to be his organizer, secretary and nanny in one!...together with Piotr and Seba we go shopping for some outdoor gear, we visit a local climbing club for advice from Seba's ...

...I manage to get my dry food and my homemade breakfasts past the ruthless sanitary customs check at the Chilean border. They seem to be impressed by the fact I tried to climb Aconcagua :)...I arrive in Santiago and as usual I'm in awe of the cleanliness, order and wealth of the country and still not a big fan of the local prices....At the same time I how everything works so much better here than in Argentina.
