We stopped off at a rest point 2 hours after stopping off from Airlie beach as it was dark and I was getting tired. We found one called the Leap Hotel, which is hilarious because it's not a hotel, it's basically a run down large beach shack on stilts! But it looked pretty cool. We parked up in the pitch black and Sarah started to panic about what might be lurking in the bushes... I think half man, half beast might have been mentioned at some point! After convincing her that I was pretty sure such thing didn't exist we actually had a really good nights sleep, although it absolutely hammered it down in the middle of the night which woke us both up as we haven't seen or heard rain for ages! It was so loud!!! In the morning, I had a shower (which was actually lovely and clean), scrambled eggs and beans, and set off again. We had nearly 9 hours of driving a head of us! It's weird as that didn't even seem a big deal as there's just so much to see! I love driving out here, the views are incredible, it's sunny all day, the music is blaring, open straight roads the whole way, it didn't bother me we had a whole day of it! We made loads of gas station stops to make sure we didn't find ourselves out in the middle of nowhere and running out of petrol! We also checked the air in the tyres... Who needs a man ey! Anyway, Sarah managed to spill petrol all over the floor at one petrol station, she started to panic, and then poured water all over it! As stinking petrol started to run across the petrol station, Sarah just causally walked off to pay! I saw a 'petrol spillage' bright yellow bin so had a little look to find sand in there! Sarah then poured piles of sand all over the petrol and we drove off! Still panicking that she was going to be arrested for such an ordeal and the petrol station might go up in flames, we drove back and she confessed to what she had done to the assistant who then put her high visibility jacket on, took bright orange cones, and had to go clear it all up! Back on the Bruce highway we went! We eventually arrived at Agnes Waters! Finally got some wifi and found out my amazing mum has managed to get Glastonbury 2015 tickets for my brother and me!!! What a good day!!! We got a takeaway pizza and headed to the Agnes Waters beach caravan park which is right on the beach front! Early night before beach day tomorrow!
