Headed to Kings Canyon today. About 330km from Uluru. Found a nice grassy patch to camp, in the "resort". Similar set up to Yulara, although not as big-and fuel was even more expensive -$2.28/litre!!!! We shared the camping area with 2 high school groups on camp-so about 80 teenagers in the pool! The kids didn't last long in the water with them-but they sat for a bit and watched the "teenage show!".
Explored the area, and enjoyed the 6km canyon rim walk. The views were spectacular -sheer cliffs, rocky outcrops and lush vegetation in the middle. It was surely the busiest walk we have done, with loads of tour buses and heaps of people on the trail.
We are all starting to feel a bit emotional as we know the trip is coming to an end, and that we will leave the Monks in Alice Springs-as they head to Thailand and we head home.
