Off to Alice Springs today. Booked into a big 4, great park with awesome facilities for the kids. After a quick set up-they are straight to the jumping pillow, park and tiggy, tiggy, tiggy!
Alice Springs is a big town, checked out the town, did some shopping, and spent the day relaxing before our big days heading home.
This will be my last blog for the trip-as we say goodbye to our mates. Just 2400km to go-then we will be home!!
We are all dumb founded that the "big trip" is nearly over! 2 years of planning and preparing-and wow what an amazing time we have had!
The blog we have written, has only told part of our story-the bits that are easy to put into words. (Our experiences and places we have been). Along with our adventures, our two families have laughed together, cried together, wondered in awe at this beautiful country together, and we have grown together.
We have grown as a family, and Craig and I will cherish forever this precious time we have had with our kids.
Each one of the 10 of us will have a different story to tell-but there is one thing we will all agree on-the bond of friendship we have developed. We have learnt to take care of each other, support each other, tolerate each others moods, and truly enjoy each others company. I feel our 6 wonderful children have been shown first hand the value of true friendship, what better way for kids to learn-then watching their parents. I know the kids have grown to love each other like brothers and sisters. They didn't even have a blew on the whole trip, well not that we knew about. It will take time to get used to life without Eli, Ebony and Amelia.
We have enjoyed getting to know the Monk kids. Eli and the way he can turn even the most standard day into a dream come true for my boys-fun with "snuffalos", playing in the dirt, war games, and mine craft. Not to mention the wonderful way you care for Coen and Aden, and help them out with their jobs. Keep up with the yocult matey!
Ebony, it's been a laugh spending this time with you. We have enjoyed your comments, and your opinions and "take" on what's going on. Emma has enjoyed having sisters, and I know that's how she thinks of you and Amelia now. Keep up with all those crazy gym moves!!
Amelia, our little trooper! You have become Emma's little sister, she adores you and has loved helping you out over the past 4 months. I have enjoyed watching you and Aden grow together, and love the way your giggles come so easy. Your independence is truly amazing.
Thank you Barb and John (Stu and Marj), for letting us share this amazing journey with you and your family. I know we will retell our stories for many years to come.
I look forward to planning our next adventure, and I know -without a doubt-you will have our backs. Xx

Casilda It has been wonderful to read the journal of your travels and I am sure it was more enriched for having each other to share the experience with. x
