Excited to be getting out of the city today-back into the bush-Litchfield National Park.
We ended up having a bit of fun with the cars and campers -on a 4wd track, turns out-when it says no trailers -it means no trailers-our old prado saved the day in the end!
Decided to camp at Florence falls. Lovely waterfalls into a swimming hole. We enjoyed the cool water, right up until the fish started eating the scabs/sores on our legs!!!! Disgusting!!! Was another funny night, of board games, making our own fun.
Spent the next day doing a day tour of Litchfield. It feels very touristy, with steps built into the waterholes, and loads of people, mostly families day tripping from Darwin. I guess we have been spoilt by the raw beauty of Kakadu. Litchfield is very nice, but a bit busy for us. We visited Wangi falls-a very nice swimming hole. Barb listened in to a tour from an aboriginal lady. The falls are part of a women's only traditional sacred site. Which made the whole experience a lot more interesting. All 10 of us piled into a warm rock pool at the base of one of the falls-Monkfoots taking over again!
Then drove on further to Cascade Falls. A tricky walk into a series of smaller falls. Lovely swimming spot-and we spent the day lazing in the pools, exploring and getting massaged by the water falls.
