The first day of crossing the Nullabor, from Esperance to Balladonia, turned out to be horrible. After speaking to the police we took an unsealed road. A long day driving saw us rolling into Esperance with sunshine on our backs. So good to be away from the rain........at least for a day anyway. Took advantage of the sunshine and headed straight out to Cape Le Grande national park some 60km out of town. We drove into the campground at Lucky Bay and immediately understood where the name came from. Although there was a bit of sea grass washed up on the beach it was a magnificent protected bay with turquoise water. ...

Arrived into Albany-a lovely spot. Booked into a Big 4 at Middleton Beach. Amazing facilities-kids paradise. A massive recreation room, with pool table, ping pong, and arcade games. A heated pool and spa, a lounge with tv, board games and movies. As well as the best camp kitchen-with a wood fire heater in it!! All of this nestled into a lovely bay, with white sand beach. Left Margaret River to Walpole, stopping at Pemberton along the way. I felt the buzz of memories of my beautiful Granna, as we stopped to lunch and look round Pemberton.
