After a very comfortable night at the Big 4 in Katherine, we headed off to explore Katherine Gorge. The area is full with bats at the moment, so we were unable to camp at the gorge-too stinky.
We hired a canoe, and took turns paddling around the first gorge. Spectacular rock walls, amazing flora and cool water. Very relaxing way to explore! A few of the other canoe goers spotted some freshwater crocodiles, so Craig and Emma, and Eli and John set out to track one down. The rest of us swam and played UNO, and relaxed in the shade....lazy...
We enjoyed the visitors centre at the gorge, really informative, and hands on for the kids. We will be back in Katherine in about 2 weeks, so will check the Gorge walks out then.
