Headed into Jim Jim falls today. About 45 minutes on rough corregations-then a harder 40 minute 4wd into the falls car park. Kakadu is still able to surprise-and surprised we were when we arrived at the falls. It was a fairly difficult walk in, then we stepped onto a white sandy beach, surrounded by 200m tall cliffs, a 200m tall twin waterfall, and an amazing swimming hole!

The water was icy cold-but much needed after the walk in. The kids got straight into beach mode-played flag races and relays on the beach!

We made our way into the plunge pool, spectacular sight-with the waterfall and the cliffs closing in. Barb, John and Craig decided to swim to the waterfall-about 100m against the current and the wind. I had to stay to take the photos-well that's what I told them anyway!! I have photos of them looking tiny under the waterfall. And will never forget how john's brain froze and Barb and Craig took the walk back to regain any warmth.

Back to Cooinda to fight the mozzies for another night. Had a night time swim- then early bed!!
