It was a rainy day today so we had planned our day on transport well. Today we were making our way to De Kusstram (the coast tram) which runs 68 km's and is the longest tram line in the world. We took the train to Knokke on Belgium's north coast, just 20mins from Brugge then straight onto the tram which only cost €2 each all the way to the southern end at De Panne. The tram stopped about every kilometre so by the time we got to the centre of De Panne after 2hrs we were ready to get off & find some lunch. It was still drizzling so we didn't go searching too far & shared a very tasty pizza at a restaurant on the beach side promenade. Back on the tram for the last few stops to the train station & the end of the line we went for a short walk to the commonwealth war cemetery which contained British & Belgian troops before getting the train back to Brugge, about 40 mins from here. It had started to clear up a little by the time we got back to Brugge so when we ventured out for dinner we thought it was safe to walk along the canal to the kebab shop but it evidently we ended up having to walk back in a light drizzle. Another evening of BBC & Internet in our basic hotel room.
