Things I forgot about yesterday: 1. We saw our first Roadrunner! It ran across the road (go figure) and up a hill. Wiley Coyote, aka Larry, started to chase it for a photo, forgetting it was a Road RUNNER! No photo. 2. We saw the government at work in its normal state of ridiculousness! We headed out on a day trip to Santa Elena Canyon where the Rio Grande runs between two rock walls that are approx. 1500 ft tall. So many beautiful sights along the way. Took several short hikes and picnicked along the Rio Grande and watch some sheep and horses graze on the Mexican side of the river. Big Bend weather: sunny and warm or cloudy/dark and cold. Very beautiful and spiritual day. God is quite the creator and artist!
