Arrived in Austin and decided to go straight out for the night as it is the 'live music capital of the world'.
Before we could hit the town we were distracted by the idea of bat watching. Apparently its a big deal in Austin. We headed to the bridge where 1.5 million bats live and every night they all leave at the same time to go hunting, except this night. We did see a few but apparently they do not like rain so after an hour gave up and hit 6th street.
6th street in one word is amazing. Being a Uni town it was full of funky, cool bars all of which had bands or a DJ! Imagine our shock and joy when two beers came to $2. You can prob imagine how the night went when the most expensive round all night was $4, until Bobby decided on JagaBombs!!!
Next morning visited Barton Springs, which is basically a fresh water river which they have turned into a pool. It is the coldest thing we have ever been in!
Spend the afternoon wandering the town and the university campus. The Uni of Texas is huge and the stadium where they play college football holds 102,000 people...insane!
Spend the last evening in the warehouse district.
