Left Tallahassee in pouring rain which continued the whole way to Mobile. Took about 7 hours as Sam insisted on taking a detour via a small town called seaside, which is where the Truman Show was filmed. Couldnt see anything due to the rain and Louis was having another tantrum.

After spending very little time in Mobile you quickly realise you are no longer in Florida. Its back to the tree lined streets with massive manor houses, where the slaves worked and also back to the soul food.

Downtown is very small and attractive. We got on the tour bus to go round the whole downtown. 5 mins later we were back to the start. The pace of life is amazingly slow and laid back and the accents are very Forest Gump!! We had lunch at a local soul food resturant and visited the main attraction, the USS Alabama, which has been in about 9 battles in WWII. Didnt go on because as Sam rightly said "its only a boat", and thats all she had to say about that!!!
