After a 7 hour drive we booked into the first hotel near the beach we found, which turned out to be a mistake as the pool seemed to be giving all of the kids 'pink eye'. We instead spent our time on the beach. Went to sample Daytona's famous bars at night and got a little drunk and lost badly in a pub quiz, against a group of college professors.

Drove past the Daytona Speedway which was huge and seemed to go for miles, but was closed.

Overall Daytona was similar to the other US beach resorts we have visited!!!
