Great breaky for the kids this morning. Dunmarra apparantly has the best pies in Australia. Pie and ice coffee for Jack, Sausage Roll and ice chocolate for Pops - great parenting. Another long day in the car today as we creep closer to QLD. The kids got their journals up to date and we listened to a bit more of Watership Down. Today we started our backtracking drive to head to Queensland. Bit of a long drive but it had to be done. Stopped off at Katherine - lunch at Macca's (the kids were pumped), replaced the dodgy kettle (Pen was pumped) and replaced the UHF arial that snapped on the 4WD track (Baz was pumped). We stayed at Dunmarra which is basically a small caravan park behind a roadhouse that was owned by Irish Mac (We of the Never Never) in the early nineteen hundreds. ...

Today is another super special edition with Jack typing!!!!!!!!! This morning we woke up in the crappiest caravan park ever. We were going to go to some of Litchfield's most amazing landmarks today! First we went to the Bamboo Creek Tin Mine. Even though it wasn't even 400 metres walk it felt a lot more cause of the temperature! It was only about 10 in the morning but 32 degrees! Next we went to the Cascades (waterfalls) that was 1.3 kilometres walk...

We finally left Darwin this morning. We had promised the kids a crocodile jumping cruise so unfortunately had to backtrack down the Arnhem Highway to the Adelaide River. We weren't disappointed though. Although it is no longer a novelty to see these wild ancient creatures, to see them jumping out of the water up close to the boat was a magnificent sight. Today is a split blog as Baz once again went off fishing, this time for the full day. Baz's fishing Adventure Up early and once again hit the water with Brian from Anglers Advantage. Hot and long day on the water. Like any day of fishing, patience is the key. We had quiet patches and busy patches once again using lures venturing into the bay then into the west arm river system on an outgoing tide.
