It's our last day in Spain before we trek over to Italy on the overnight train. Yesterday we admired more Gaudi and did a fair bit of shopping as the sales end tomorrow. One dress I didn't buy was the £1200 Yves Sant Laurent I tried on. Of course it was pointless without the £345 patent leather belt and the £850 6" inch platform heels in matching patent leather. Oh I had the most delicious tapas last night! There are a lot of ordinary ones around but when you find the great ones, they are amazing! Then today we headed to Montserrat - a huge monastery that is high up in the mountains - it's peaceful, serene and a little chilly up there. There is a massive basilica and a very particular black wooden statue of Mary up there - people queue for an hour to touch it for 30 seconds. Now we are eating classy tapas again though ...

Ah it's midday already! Matt and I are just grabbing som lunch after our morning at the sangrada familia - the cathedral that Gaudi designed and never completed. It's still being built - there are cranes and scaffolding every where and there is no end date in sight. It's such an enormous task. The building is amazing. We made a relatively seamless journey to Barcelona after seeing a flamenco show on our last night in Madrid. Caught the train this morning and arrived here around 2pm to our classy one star accommodation. The whole room is about the size of my queen size bed and there is a standing fan that sounds like a helicopter. But after spending 5 hours walking around Barcelona - it's fine by me.
