Ok so the photo is actually from yesterday... Atop Sugar Loaf but I haven't uploaded today's efforts... Today is our last day in rio as we head home tonight on our long journey. Today we headed off on a favela tour. It was nice to see a little more of the real Rio. Copacabana is like Bondi in Sydney - shiny and good for tourists but not a very true indication of the city. Today was a pretty easy going, late start as in the afternoon we headed up sugarloaf mountain for an amazing view of the city and the bay. It was too cloudy over Christ the Redeemer to see it from Sugarloaf but it was a great view of everywhere else. For lunch we had maccas because we had a huge breakfast. The fries in the happy meal were in a tiny cardboard pack - so funny. Anyway tonight we headed to a traditional meat buffet and I think I won't be able to eat ...

So this is our room with a view! We spent the morning at Christ the Redeemer and I was lucky enough to have a postcard perfect day again. It was much less busy than the first time but still busy. We spent the afternoon people watching as we wandered up and down Copacabana beach. The bikinis are not very generous here and let's just say not ALL people are suited to the style... Ah well! Now we are at a samba show. Trying to get to know different Latin American cul...

Today was all about the Falls... In the morning we went to the Devil's Mouth viewing platform. You walk about 1 km over the iguazu river and stand really close to the biggest drop. It's about 72metres high. The bridge was recently reopened after high waters swept away large sections of it that you can see strewn in the river. Travel day pretty much, we are on the Argentinian side of the falls we have the most amazing view of the falls from our room window which was upgraded thanks to our honeymoon. Tonight we had a BBQ dinner in town with Mexican made corona... For those who don't know, corona in Australia is made in Australia so it's not as authentic... Maybe our next holiday should be Mexico???? Off to visit the falls itself tomorrow.
