The train pulled into Ella station at 13.45, the journey having taken 1.5 hours, winding down through the mountains, giving us spectacular views of the tea plantations and villages along the way. We were met at the station by our coach and driver who dove us a short distance to a restaurant for lunch which consisted of roti (stuffed pancake) with a stuffing of our choice. I went for chicken. We then headed to the rest house (hotel) at around 2.45. At 3.30, those of us who wanted it, (Sarah,Kat, Roger, Martin and I) got back on the coach which took us for a very relaxing Aruveydic massage, steam bath and herbal sauna (which lasted 1 hour 45 minutes in total).
After we returned from the massage, I headed down into Ella village to see if I could find a WIFI spot. I finally opted for a little coffee shop, where I had a capuccino, whilst updating my blog and catching up on emails.
Those of us who were able to, as a number of the group had come down with bugs of some sort or another, met in the lobby of the hotel at 7.30. We then headed into Ella and to the cafe where we had had lunch, where I shared a meal with Roger, and then had a hoppa for dessert (with bananas and honey). It was still quite early so after dinner, Roger, Sarah, Pat, and I decided to go for one last drink before heading to bed.
