After a turn-around time of around an hour for a quick shower etc, 5 of us Rodger, Kat, And I hopped aboard the bus to take the bus to Kadulla National Park around an hour's drive away. There we changed vehicles to an open topped jeep, to undertake a jeep safari round the national park. The whole trip took around 2 hours, and to start with we saw relatively little, save for a couple of beautiful birds. We then came across a herd of water buffalo wallowing in the river bed, which we sat and watched for about 10 minutes before heading on. Relatively soon after that we encountered 2 herds of elephants in quick succession, each numbering around 20 beasts. Unfortunately due to the nature of the park, there were a number of jeeps at each spot, so we were unable to enjoy them in solitude, but the experience was still one which I will remember for a long time to come.
