Day 10!
Has it really been ten days already? And, at the same time, has it only been ten days? I feel as though I have accomplished so much but am still shocked that I am here. Today, I returned to class and my beloved Harlaxton. I have to say it is quite a bit colder here than in London. I received my first overseas letter from my grandma (Thanks Danman!) and my shoes that I left at home while packing. I now have four pairs to choose from which is quite different than my shoe rack from home, but I believe I'll survive.
Later in the afternoon, I took a four mile walk through the beautiful English countryside. In England, especially our area, there are a ton of public walking paths that can take you from town to town. The funny thing is these walking paths often take you right over someone's fence and into a pasture full of sheep and cattle who just stare as you walk on by. It then wrapped around a large reservoir where locals were fishing. We walked down cottage lined streets, through pastures, through woods and sometimes through crop fields, yet somehow we ended up right back in Harlaxton. It was a little chilly but a very cool experience.
I finished the night by watching Pride and Prejudice, the 2007 version, in preparation to visit the house that inspired Pemberley later this week. I am excited to explore several small towns in England this weekend and watch Pride and Prejudice performed in Sheffield.
Hoping for another great weekend!

DanMan Ha! Glad my card and your shoes arrived! What another great day you have had. I'm amazed at the beauty! All of this reminds me of the scenery in the British comedies Poppy and I always watched on PBS. And, oh, Poppy could tell you stories about Spain!Ha!
